Chapter:Verse
1:5 A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel.
1:9 So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain; It takes away the life of the owners.
1:25 & 27 Because you disdained all my counsel, and would have none of my reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, when distress and anguish come upon you.
2:6 & 9 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path.
2:10 & 11 When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you.
3:3 & 4 Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.
3:5, 6 & 26 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. For the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.
3:35 The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools.
4:18-19 The path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter into the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.
6:16-17 & 19 These things the Lord hates, a proud look, a lying tongue, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.
8:20 & 21 I traverse the way of the righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice, that I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth.
9:8 Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you, teach a just man and he will increase in learning.
10:17 He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, but he who refuses reproof goes astray.
11:1 A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight.
11:3, 5 & 8 The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them. The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way. The righteous is delivered from trouble, and it comes to the wicked instead.
11:9 The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor.
11:12 He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor, But a man of understanding holds his peace.
11:13 A talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is a faithful spirit conceals a matter.
12:1 Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
12:19 The truthful lip shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but a moment.
13:10 By pride comes only contention, but with the well-advised is wisdom.
15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
15:22 Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counselors they are established.
16:11 A just weight and balance are the Lord's; all the weights in the bag are his work.
16:28 A perverse man sows strife, and a whisperer separates the best of friends.
17:3 The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the hearts.
17:8 He who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates the best of friends.
18:17 The first one to plead his cause seems right, until his neighbor comes and examines him.
20:23 Diverse weights are an abomination to the Lord, and a false balance is not good.
25:8 & 9 Do not go hastily to court, debate your case with your neighbor himself.
25:15 By long forbearance a ruler is persuaded, and a gentle tongue breaks a bone.
26:7 Where there is no talebearer, strife ceases.
27:21 A man is valued by what others say of him.
29:1 He who is often reproved, and hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed and that without remedy.
29:11 A fool vents his feelings, but a wise man holds them back.
