FUNERAL ETHICS ASSOCIATION CONSTITUTION

Article I - Name and Mission

Section 1. The Association shall be known as the Funeral Ethics Association.

Section 2. The purpose of the Funeral Ethics Association is to provide the public and the profession with a balanced forum for resolving misunderstandings and to elevate the importance of ethical practices in all matters related to funeral service.

Through continuing education of funeral directors and clear presentations to the public, convey information essential to the public's understanding of funerals, funeral options, funeral prearrangements, prefinanced funerals and the ethical purposes of the funeral profession.

The association seeks to cultivate ethical harmony and a cooperative spirit while building ethical relationships between the public and funeral service.

To accomplish these purposes, the Funeral Ethics Association is to publish a newsletter on ethical practices, hear matters dealing with ethics and establish an office of ombudsman to act in the best interests of the public and the common interests of the profession.
